Naoya Ogawa Coming Back To Z1 For One Night Only

Naoya Ogawa will be making a one-night return to ZERO-ONE MAX on Halloween night for a special show at Saijo City Gym that will feature HUSTLE representation.

Wild Child = Official IWGP Tag Champs

New Japan announced yesterday that Wild Child (Takao Omori & Manabu Nakanishi) are the official IWGP Tag Champs and will be making a defense soon possibly against the winners of the G1 Tag League.

VM Takes Over Ribera's Steakhouse

Voodoo Murders invaded the RO&D offices at Ribera’s Steakhouse in Tokyo and ran out Taiyo Kea & TAKA Michinoku with TARU saying that Ribera’s would now be the 2nd office for VM. Kea & TAKA left the building telling VM that revenge is coming soon.

Mitsuharu Misawa Accepts Kazunari Murakami's Challenge

NOAH President Mitsuharu Misawa accepted Kazunari Murakami’s challenge yesterday to a match and told Murakami to get him a partner and they would meet in a NOAH ring or if he wanted to go one-on-one that would be no problem either. Misawa was also asked about letting outsider teams into the GHC Tag Titles tourney and he said that his door is open to outsiders.

Shinsuke Nakamura Aligns With Masahiro Chono

Shinsuke Nakamura has aligned with Masahiro Chono and they will form a team that will debut at Sumo Hall on 10/9 and will compete in the G1 Tag League. Nakamura said that he is a new man and he wants to prove himself by going in a different direction and wants to align with the original lone wolf of New Japan in Chono. Chono said that Nakamura is a tremendous wrestler and he has always known that he should be the man that New Japan should build around not the current IWGP Heavyweight Champ Hiroshi Tanahashi. Nakamura said that he learned so much in the United States for the past few months and trained in many styles of combat along with adding the much needed bulk to his frame as he weighs at 243 lbs. right now and he thinks that he has the perfect compliment of speed and power. Nakamura said that the IWGP Heavyweight Title is on his mind but he wants to prove himself right now and wants to be on the opposite side of Tanahashi regardless with hopes that he & Chono will meet Koji Kanemoto & Tanahashi in the finals of the G1 Tag League.

Great Sasuke Talks Future

Great Sasuke announced today that he is planning on running for election in the Upper House of the Japanese parliament next year and he knows that if he wants to be serious about that he must do it unmasked. Sasuke said that he wants to book Sumo Hall for a big show at the end of this year where he will put his mask up on the line against the legendary Dos Caras and if he loses the match, he would unmask and retire from wrestling for good to concentrate on politics. Sasuke already is in politics as he is a member of parliament in his hometown of Iwate and he wears a mask there but he could never do that in the Upper House.

GHC Tag Titles Declared Vacant And Kobashi News

Kenta Kobashi went to his doctor last week for a checkup and his doctor told him that he could start working out with weights immediately, which Kobashi has done but he can’t do any bench press repetitions yet because he still has pain in his abdomen from the surgery. Kobashi will be working out in the NOAH Dojo and a return to the wrestling ring is in his sights.

Tamon Honda officially relinquished the GHC Tag Titles today saying that holding the titles is doing them an injustice right now due to Kobashi’s injury. Honda said that he would team up with Go Shiosaki in the tourney that will be held on 10/13 in Osaka and they would win the titles in Kobashi’s honor.

Hiroshi Tanahashi Calls Out Shinsuke Nakamura

IWGP Heavyweight Champ Hiroshi Tanahashi stated today that after he retains his title against Hiroyoshi Tenzan on 10/9 at Sumo Hall, he would challenge his former tag partner and generational rival Shinsuke Nakamura to face him for the title next. Tanahashi said that he wants to avenge his loss from last year to Nakamura and wants to show Nakamura how much he has grown himself since Nakamura left for the United States earlier this year. Tanahashi was asked if Nakamura would be his partner in the IWGP Tag League and he said absolutely not. Looks like we may be heading for Tanahashi/Nakamura II at the Tokyo Dome on 1/4/07.

Kensuke Sasaki Eyes (no pun intended) Comeback & Triple Crown

Kensuke Sasaki who is recovering from his eye surgery in July said today that his recovery is progressing nicely and everything is looking good for him to return to the ring very soon. Sasaki said that Minoru Suzuki winning the Triple Crown is motivating him more for a quicker return because he wants to clean up the titles since they have gone into some dirty hands.

Shinsuke Z Yamagasa retired today after a short career that was plagued by injuries and he was supposed to face Shinjiro Otani today but had to cancel due to injuries. There was a ceremony for him after the 3rd match at Korakuen Hall and he thanked everyone for supporting him throughout his career and needs their support in his post wrestling career.

Super Porky In Car Wreck

Brazo de Plata was in a car accident this afternoon in Atlacomulco when the Nissan truck he was riding in overturned and flipped a couple of times. Porky went to the hospital and is in stable condition but there isn’t any word on if he will be released by tomorrow night where he is supposed to work the big PAP show in Naucalpan.

New Japan President Simon Kelly Inoki stated yesterday that Shinsuke Nakamura’s return to New Japan has been confirmed for 10/9 at Sumo Hall but there is nothing concrete as far as a match for him yet. Simon also reiterated his feelings for Masahiro Chono & Hiroyoshi Tenzan to vacate their IWGP Tag Titles but Chono said today that even though he isn’t getting along with Tenzan now and they have a match on 9/24 in Osaka, there is a chance that they could still reinstate their team and defend the titles just to spite Simon.

A Tale Of Two Men Named Ryuji

Big Japan announced today that the legendary Ryuji Yamakawa would be coming home and would make his return to the ring after a 2 year absence on 9/23 at the Koshigaya Katsura Studios. Yamakawa has taken the last 2 years off to rest his body from working such a rigorous style in Big Japan and has been working in their promotions department along with managing a restaurant in Sapporo. Yamakawa said that Big Japan has grown so much lately and thinks now is the time to help their renaissance.

BJPW Death Match Champ Ryuji Ito vacated his title officially today due to what could be a long absence after his surgery that I reported yesterday. Ito said that it wouldn’t be fair to Big Japan for the title to sit dormant and wants them to have a tournament to crown a new champ but sent a warning to the person that wins the title saying that when he returns, he will be gunning for them.

Fumihiko Uei Is At It Again

Fumihiko Uei announced today the formation of his new group since he was dismissed from BML and it will be known as UWAI STATION FREESTYLE PRO WRESTLING. Uei said that the first show will take place on 10/8 at Korakuen Hall and he is talking to wrestlers like Yoshiaki Fujiwara/Katsuyori Shibata/Minoru Suzuki/Yoshihiro Takayama and chatted with All-Japan President Keiji Muto for 30:00 the other day about a possible partnership. Uei said that the show will only have 5 matches and he wants to bring back the energy to wrestling that Giant Baba & Antonio Inoki brought to wrestling. Uei went on to say that he wants the fans to have a big say in who gets matches and who doesn’t and if they don’t like someone’s performance on a show then he wants to hear their information to weed out the ones needed to go.

Makai Cllub Partners Up With Voodoo Murders

Makai Club Sponsor Kantaro Hoshino held a press conference today where he announced a partnership with the Voodoo Murders from All-Japan and was joined by Brother YASSHI & TARU. Hoshino already has a relationship with YASSHI & Shuji Kondo from when they were based in Kobe with Dragon Gate and Hoshino has a promotion office there for New Japan. YASSHI said that Hoshino was like an uncle to him and would follow him anytime. TARU has already pointed out Jado & Gedo on the WRESTLE LAND poster and YASSHI pointed out Minoru Tanaka so a possible YASSHI/Kondo/TARU vs. Gedo/Jado/Tanaka match could be in the works.

Minoru Suzuki Is A Bad Man

Minoru Suzuki stirred the shit today at the press conference for the Real Japan show on 9/20 at Korakuen Hall where he called his opponent on the show Masao Orihara a “waste of time” and will be a stepping stone for what he really wants and that is a match against Tiger Mask. Suzuki said that he wants to prove to Tiger Mask that UWF II was better than UWF and while he was speaking about a future TM match, Orihara was steaming and decided to jump in Suzuki’s face shouting at him before being held back. Orihara told Suzuki to bring his Triple Crown belts to the show because after he defeats him he will raise the titles over his head as the true champion.

Mr. Danger Coming Back To ZERO-ONE

“Mr. Danger” Mitsuhiro Matsunaga is readying himself to re-enter ZERO-ONE MAX and sent word today to Z1 offices that he plans on intruding on their show at Korakuen Hall on 9/22 and Z1 President Shinjiro Otani basically told him to bring it on saying that he would be ready for him if he tried to interfere.

MUGAWORLD President Tatsumi Fujinami stated today that he has three goals for MUGA WORLD and that is to advance to Sumo Hall in the next year, Nippon Budokan Hall in the year after that, and the Tokyo Dome by 2009. Fujinami said that MUGA WORLD will stay the course and will achieve this mission.

There should be an announcement made soon that the 73rd Anniversary show at Arena Mexico on 9/29 would be broadcasted live on SKY PPV in Mexico. EMLL used to have PPV’s regularly in 2000-02 and with the future lineup being one of the biggest anniversary lineups ever being headlined by Mistico vs. Black Warrior – Mascara contra Mascara that a PPV would make sense.
