New Japan President Simon Kelly Inoki was asked on Thursday about the chance of Bob Sapp maybe working some shows for New Japan once he gets out of his contract with FEG and Simon said that the chances of that happening are pretty much zero adding that he has a good relationship with FEG right now in regards to Akebono and doesn’t want to taint that. Simon also said that Sapp isn’t what he once was and that he may not be reliable for bookings anymore after what happened before his last fight with Ernesto Hoost.
Simon was also asked about Masahiro Chono & Shinsuke Nakamura forming a team in the G1 Tag League and he became angry saying that he wants to make sure that they won’t win the tournament and he will be offering money to anyone who can injure Chono as a bounty. Simon said that he would be in the corner of the New Japan guys in Kobe when they meet Chono’s army and Hiroyoshi Tenzan’s army and that if Chono wants to fight him this time he won’t just allow him to take a shot. Not enough bounty angles in wrestling anymore so God bless New Japan.
