Daisuke Sekimoto will be out of action for some time due to swelling on his brain that was found out this week by his doctor.

Shinjiro Otani Goes Off On Kohei Sato Again

ZERO-ONE President Shinjiro Otani expressed his anger today about Kohei Sato’s “secret” meeting with Simon Kelly Inoki this week and even more upset at Kazunari Murakami for also being there since he has become one of Otani’s closet confidants. Otani said that Sato has one more booking left on his ZERO-ONE deal and that is against Kamikaze on Sunday and if he doesn’t show up then he may take legal action.

New Japan Names New President

New Japan’s stockholders held a meeting yesterday and formally announced that Naoki Sugehayashi would be promoted from Vice President to President of New Japan, which he has been acting as the interim pres since Simon Kelly Inoki left. Sugehayashi said that he wants to continue New Japan’s great 35th anniversary year and is planning on making this year even better for the fans and the wrestlers.

Shiro Koshinaka Gets His Shot At The IWGP Heavyweight Title

New Japan officially announced yesterday that Yuji Nagata would make his first defense of his IWGP Heavyweight Title against Shiro Koshinaka on 5/2 at Korakuen Hall in the first defense in that building since December 1988.

Masato Tanaka Returns On May 27th

ZERO-ONE President Shinjiro Otani announced today that Masato Tanaka would make his in-ring return on 5/27 at Korakuen Hall after being out of action for 7 months while recuperating from his shoulder surgery. Tanaka said that his doctors have given him full clearance to return to the ring after doing some heavy workout sessions to see how his shoulder would feel and he had no problems. Otani started to talk about who Tanaka would face in his return match when Yoshito Sasaki stepped in and demanded to face Tanaka saying that he wants to prove himself to everyone so they can see that he is ready to step up to the big time. Tanaka said that he wants to be in this year’s Fire Festival but knows that he must win some matches to show that he is qualified.

Manabu Nakanishi Wants A Ladder Match

Manabu Nakanishi demanded today that his match against Hiroshi Tanahashi on the WRESTLE LAND show at Korakuen Hall become a ladder match. Nakanishi said that this match wouldn’t work in New Japan proper but would be perfect for WL and he wants to put his white training headband on the line to signify whoever that grabbed it at the top would become the true leader of WRESTLE LAND. Nakanishi also said that since TARU isn’t booked on the card then he should be given the chance to join in this match making it a 3 Way Dance.
